Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club Partners with Circle W Sports to Bring Showcase to Student-Athletes

WELLSBORO, PA - The Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club has partnered with Circle W Sports to bring Showcase, a student-athlete profile and recruiting platform, to Wellsboro Area School District athletes and families.

Through the partnership, Wellsboro student-athletes can create a basic Showcase profile at no cost, giving them a starting point to establish their presence on the platform. Families who want to build a more complete digital record of the athlete's career - including photos, highlights, records, milestones and additional recruiting tools - can choose from Showcase's optional paid membership levels.

Eligible premium memberships purchased through the Wellsboro program will also generate financial support for the Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club, creating a program designed to benefit both individual athletes and the broader Wellsboro athletic community.

"We're excited about what the Showcase Affiliate Program can provide for both our student-athletes and the Wellsboro Sports Booster Club," said Booster Club President Melissa Richardson. "For our athletes, it gives them another opportunity to gain exposure, showcase their abilities and take a more active role in their own recruiting process. It also gives them access to resources that can help them learn about opportunities at the next level, build confidence and take ownership of their future.

"For the Booster Club, this gives us an opportunity to create recurring revenue that can directly benefit our student-athletes and athletic programs. Instead of relying solely on traditional fundraisers, we now have another way to generate funds that can help us purchase equipment, provide uniforms and team gear, and support programs and activities for our athletes. What makes this program special is that it has the opportunity to benefit our athletes individually while also giving back to the programs that support them."

For Circle W Sports, the partnership has special significance because of the company's longstanding connection to Wellsboro athletics.

"Wellsboro athletics has always been a big part of what we do and who we are at Circle W Sports,” said Ed Weaver of Circle W Sports. "We've covered these athletes, watched them grow up and followed their accomplishments for years. This partnership gives us another way to support them - not just by covering what they accomplish, but by giving them a platform to tell their own stories."

Showcase gives each student-athlete a central digital home for their athletic career.

Depending on the membership level selected, athletes can add accomplishments, photos, videos, statistics, records, workouts and other milestones as their careers develop. Profiles can be shared through a personalized link and QR code with college coaches, recruiters, family members, fans and others.

For athletes hoping to compete in college, Showcase can also become part of their recruiting process.

Wellsboro senior runner Lauren Kosek is already using Showcase successfully as part of her college recruiting process, including to help her connect with and target opportunities at programs such as the University of Toledo, where she recently committed.

Lauren's father, Wellsboro Head Cross Country Coach Eric Kosek, has seen firsthand how the platform can help simplify that process.

"Showcase has brought visibility to Lauren. It has allowed her to easily show interested universities her accolades and as an athlete has streamlined the recruitment process," Kosek said.

"Showcase has been super helpful over the span of my recruiting process. It is so great to get recognition, especially coming from a sport that can sometimes get forgotten about. With showcase I never have to worry about it! It is a great way to be able to share my achievements on social media and get more visibility for college coaches and programs."

But college recruiting isn't the only reason for an athlete to participate.

"Not every high school athlete is going to compete in college, and they don’t have to," Weaver said. "Every athlete has a story worth preserving. We want Showcase to become a digital scrapbook of their athletic career - something they can build over the years, share today and still look back on long after they've played their final game."

As part of the program, Wellsboro families will also have access to Circle W Sports' Athlete Assessment, designed to help parents and student-athletes better understand where they currently stand and identify potential next steps.

The assessment considers areas including athletic profile development, recruiting readiness and college planning readiness.

The goal is simple: help families answer the question, "What should we be doing right now?"

Families can use the results to identify areas that may need attention as their athlete progresses through high school.

The partnership is also designed to create a new source of support for the Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club.

When eligible families choose to purchase premium Showcase memberships through the Wellsboro program, a portion of that revenue will benefit the Booster Club.

"Having an organization like the Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club get behind Showcase is exactly what we envisioned when we created the Affiliate Program," Weaver said. "The Booster Club already works incredibly hard to support Wellsboro's student-athletes. We want Showcase to give them another resource for families while also creating an opportunity to generate additional support for Wellsboro athletics."

Wellsboro student-athletes and their families can learn more about Showcase and complete the Athlete Assessment through the Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club's dedicated Showcase link or QR code.

There is no credit card required to create a basic profile.

Families interested in additional recruiting, exposure and premium profile tools can explore those options after getting started.
