Bowen Selected To NTL All-Star Team

Sophomore Ryder Bowen was named to the NTL's All-Star wrestling team on Monday, March 20 as the league announced their annual selections.

Bowen was a 2nd team selection at 160 lbs. and is Wellsboro's first all-star since the program rebooted last season. Bowen went 20-8 on the season to lead Wellsboro, scoring 10 wins by pin fall and three by decision.

Bowen finished 3rd in is weight class at the North Section tournament to qualify for the District IV tournament.

“I’m proud of the way Ryder wrestled this season," head coach Bryce Bitner said. "He was aggressive, not afraid to make mistakes, kept his composure, and wrestled hard. For him to go from 7-15 to 20-8 and a district qualifier in a year is incredible and shows that his ceiling has yet to be reached. His accomplishments are also a demonstration of how hard our team and coaches have worked to improve. We have a great group of athletes and coaches who want to get better every day, and we look forward to continuing to improve our program."
