Coach Bitner is from Blanchard, PA and was a 2016 graduate of Central Mountain High School in Keystone Central School District. He then proceeded to further his education at Lock Haven University, earning a degree in Secondary Education: Social Studies (7-12) / Special Education (K-12).
In High School, Coach Bitner was a 4-year Letterman in Football, 2-year Letterman in Wrestling, and a 1-year Letterman in Tennis. While in High School, Coach Bitner finished his Senior campaign with a record of 23-13 at 285 lbs. He was a 7th place finisher at the Tom Best Top Hat Memorial Tournament, a 7th place finisher at the King of the Mountain Tournament, a 5th place finisher at the 2015 Conestoga Valley Tournament, and a 2016 PIAA District 6 AAA Regional Qualifier. Coach Bitner's High School Teams compiled a record of 41-5 over his wrestling career earning a trip to Hershey in 2014 to compete in the PIAA AAA Wrestling Team Championships, while the teams he helped coach compiled a record of 55-10.
Upon graduating from Central Mountain, Coach Bitner committed to play football as a Defensive End/Linebacker at the Division II level for Lock Haven University. While in college, Coach Bitner returned to his alma mater and began coaching Varsity Wrestling with PA Wrestling Hall of Fame Coach Doug Buckwalter, 2X PIAA State Champion/NCAA All-American Biff Walizer, and PIAA State Champion/NCAA All-American Steve Krouse. Coach Bitner spent four years wrestling and four years coaching under his former head coaches.
Coach Bitner is in his second year teaching at Wellsboro Area High School. He is also a Varsity Assistant Football Coach and Assistant Varsity Track Coach. Coach Bitner enjoys hunting, fishing, exercising, playing sports, and spending time with friends and family in his free time.
