The Wellsboro Junior High Softball team dropped a doubleheader to Williamson on Saturday, falling 15-0 in game one and being edged out 11-10 in game two.
The young Lady Hornets struggled offensively in the first game as they were held to just a pair of hits. Brooke Coolidge and Rachel Weaver were both 1-for-2. Weaver took the loss on the mound, allowing 8 hits and 11 walks while striking out 5.
Wellsboro got in gear in the 2nd game, but just couldn't pull out the win. Coolidge and Riley Lanphear scored a pair of runs for Wellsboro while Weaver, Harper Bourret, Tegan Wheeler, Kyerra Heck and Emily Harsch crossed home plate once.
Coolidge was 4-for-4 with an RBI at the plate to lead the Wellsboro while Bourret and Lanphear both ended 2-for-3 with RBIs. Taeber Rodriguez, Weaver and Wheeler made up the remaining hits.
Lanphear suffered the loss, giving up 6 hits and 7 walks with 7 strikeouts.
Wellsboro (2-2) faces off against Athens later this afternoon.
