Smith Hits For The Cycle In Friday Double With Canton

Freshman Haylie Smith hit for the cycle in a JV double header with Canton that saw the Wellsboro Lady Hornets tie and drop a close 2nd on Friday afternoon.

In game one Wellsboro tied Canton 8-8. Smith went 2-for-2 in the game with a double, a home run and scored a run. Sophomore Hannah Taylor went 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored a run, and freshman Gena Fleming was 1-for-1 with a double and RBI.

Sophomore Lacie Brutsman, Smith, Taylor, freshman Phoebe Bowen, freshman Paityn Biery (2), and freshman Emaleigh Hamblin (2) scored in the game.

In game two Canton edged the Lady Hornets, 8-7. Smith went 2-for-3 in the game with a triple and run scored, sophomore Madalynn Flannery was 1-for-2 with an RBI and run scored, Fleming went 1-for-3 with an RBI and run scored, Taylor was 1-for-2 and scored 3 runs, and Makenzie Alexander was 1-for-1 with an RBI.

Hamblin also scored a run in the 5th.
