Hornets Suffer 54-9 Loss To Canton

The Wellsboro Varsity Wrestling team dropped their 12th straight match, falling 54-9 to NTL foe Canton Wednesday evening.

Canton jumped out to a quick 12-0 lead after the first two matches with one pin fall and a forfeit before sophomore Connor Linden picked up a forfeit at 121 lbs. to cut the lead in half.

The Warriors then took the next seven of eight matches (double forfeit at 133 lbs.) before senior Hayden Stevens edged Leland Pepper in a 4-1 decision at 215 lbs.

There was no match at 285 lbs.

Wellsboro (0-12, 0-5 NTL) hosts Wyalusing this evening.
