North Penn-Liberty's Elyna Booth threw a one-hit shut out for an 11-0 victory in 5 innings against the Wellsboro Varsity Softball team Thursday afternoon.
Freshman Kaylee Frazier had the Lady Hornets' lone hit in the game in the 4th inning.
The Lady Mounties held a 1-0 lead until they put together a 4-run 4th inning, aided by a collision and error in the middle infield that added 3 extra runs, and followed it up with 6 more runs in the 5th to close things out.
Freshman Adelyn Frantz pitched a complete game, allowing 11 runs (4 earned) on 6 hits with 6 walks and 7 strikeouts.
Booth went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored a pair of runs for North Penn-Liberty.
North Penn-Liberty also won the JV game, 17-7 in three innings. Freshman Madalynn Flannery was 3-for-3 with a double, sophomore Alexis Passmore was 2-for-2 with a double and freshmen Hannah Taylor, Lacie Brutsman, and Zoey Roosa all had one hit each.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 3-7 (2-7 NTL Large School Division). The team travels to Cowanesque Valley this afternoon.
