The Wellsboro Varsity Softball team suffered a 14-1 loss in six innings to Wyalusing during Senior Night on Friday.
After a scoreless 1st inning the Lady Rams plated a run in the 2nd to take the lead, then unleashed a 12-run 3rd inning to put the game firmly in their control. Their final run came in the 5th.
Wellsboro's lone run in the game came in the 3rd as junior LeAnna Fuentes bunted for a single to lead off the inning before scoring.
Freshman Teagan Novinger and senior Arianah Lawton also had hits in the game.
Freshman Adelyn Frantz was credited with the loss after allowing 11 runs (5 earned) on 2 hits with 7 walks and 3 strikeouts in 2 & 2/3 innings of work. Senior Paige Logsdon threw the final 2 & 1/3 innings, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits with a walk and 2 strikeouts.
The Lady Hornets fall to 5-10 overall and 3-9 in the NTL Large School Division. The team is back in action on Monday against Williamson.
