Junior Lauren Kosek completed her sweep of first-place finishes in NTL competition with a 1st place finish at the NTL Coaches Invite at Northeast Bradford on Saturday.
Kosek was the only female runner to break 19 minutes in the Varsity girls race, completing the course in 18:24. Kosek's 1st place finish was her 9th of the season in 11 races.
Wellsboro finished 3rd overall with 71 places, behind Towanda (37) and North Penn-Mansfield (67). Wyalusing (83) was 4th and Northeast Bradford (88) was 5th.
Freshman Kaci Kosek placed 13th in 22:06, senior Sophia Yoder (23:44) was 20th, sophomore Molly Tice (25:28) was 26th, sophomore Luisa Crocco (26:57) was 35th and sophomore Anja Przybycien (29:03) was 37th.
In the boys race seniors Henry Whitney and Max Macias both brought home top 5 finishes. Whitney ran 16:36 to finish 3rd and Macias was right behind in 4th in 16:59. Senior Ethan Geneski (20:10) was 45th, freshman Taitt Webster (20:13) was 46th, senior Henry Nowak (20:57) finished 50th, freshman Jacob Patterson (21:25) was 54th, sophomore Jack Hammerton (21:54) crossed the finish line in 56th, freshman Jesse Spicer (23:43) was 65th and freshman Austin DeShazo (25:13) was 68th.
In the Junior High race Summer Boder (12:50) was 12th, Brianna O'Shea Losinger (13:33) was 22nd and Serenity Harrison (15:04) was 28th.
In the boys race William Rudy (11:05) finished 9th, Wiley Sargent (11:12) was 12th and Emmett Tice (12:33) was 21st.
Neither Junior High team had enough runners to register a team score.
Both Varsity teams will be back in action at the District IV Championships at Bloomsburg University on October 23.
