Senior Ryder Bowen and junior Jordan Rumsey capped their 2024-25 seasons at their respective regional wrestling tournaments on Saturday.
Bowen finished 6th overall at 189 lbs. in the 2A Northeast Region at Williamsport while Rumsey fell in the second round of consolation matches at the Central Region at Milton.
Bowen started his tournament by scoring a 17-10 decision over Central Columbia's Josh Worthington Friday evening, but then fell to Honesdale's Duke Martin in 1:08 in the quarterfinals. Bowen won both first and second round consolation matches over Mifflinburg's Landon Moser (17-4 major decision) and Dallas' Kenny Martin (18-3 tech fall in 2:32). Bowen then dropped his consolation semi-final match to Lackawanna Trail's Demitrius Douglas by a 17-6 major decision. In his 5th place match he suffered a 5-4 decision to Montoursville's Owen Kleinman.
Bowen finishes his season 32-8 to end his career with a 81-39 (.675) record.
Rumsey dropped her opening round match in 4:59 to Bald Eagle Area's Addison Tice, then won her first round consolation match in 4:42 over Milton's Louise Cromley. She was then pinned in 47 seconds by Greater Nanticoke's Emily Kivler in her second round consolation match. She finishes the season with a 13-12 record.
