North Penn-Liberty shut out the Wellsboro Varsity Softball team 16-0 in 4 innings to complete the season sweep on Tuesday, April 24.
The Lady Mounties jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st, then added three more runs in the top of the 2nd, 6 in the 3rd, and 4 in the 4th.
Haley Litzelman threw a one-hitter for North Penn-Liberty. Senior Abby Owlett had the Lady Hornets' only hit of the game, a double in the 4th. Sophomore Harleigh Cleveland was also hit by a pitch to read base
Freshman Mazie Johnson walked 3 batters and struck out 2, while allowing 16 runs (11 earned) on 10 hits in the loss.
Wellsboro (2-6, 1-6 NTL Large School Division) hosts a doubleheader with Athens on Friday.
