Wellsboro suffered a doubleheader loss to Athens on Friday, April 26.
Athens took the first game 18-0 in three innings and won the second game 15-0 in 3 innings.
In game one, the Lady Wildcats scored 8 runs in the first inning, added 9 in the 2nd, and scored their final run in the 3rd.
The Lady Hornets were held to just one hit in the game, a single by freshman Bailee Confer.
Freshman Mazie Johnson pitched the entire game, giving up 10 hits and 4 walks while striking out two.
In the second game Athens again took the early lead, scoring 7 runs in the 1st and then 8 in the third.
Athens' Maddie Hiley threw a complete-game, no-hitter.
The losses drop Wellsboro to 2-8 overall and 1-8 in the NTL Large School Division. The team is back in action at St. John Neumann later this afternoon.
