The Wellsboro Varsity Softball team fell 20-3 in 5 innings to Northeast Bradford on Tuesday, May 14.
The Lady Panthers scored 4 runs in the 1st, added 5 in the 2nd, scored 3 more in the 3rd, then added 3 in the 4th and 5 in the 5th.
Wellsboro scored once in the 3rd after senior Abby Owlett led off with a double and scored on a passed ball. Later in the 5th inning, Owlett hit into a fielder's choice then crossed home plate as part of a two-run home run by junior Paige Logsdon in the next at bat.
Logsdon finished 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs, freshman Bailee Confer and sophomore Harleigh Cleveland both finished 1-for-2, and and Owlett and senior Caralyn Warner were 1-for-3.
Confer threw 4 innings on the mound, allowing 16 runs (6 earned) on 12 hits with 8 walks and 3 strikeouts. Freshman Mazie Johnson threw the final inning, allowing 4 runs (2 earned) on one hit with 3 walks.
Wellsboro (4-14, 1-13 NTL Large School Division) is back in action for the final time this season as they host Sayre in a doubleheader Thursday night for Senior Night.
