Wellsboro dropped a doubleheader at Troy on Friday, April 19.
The Lady Hornets fell 16-1 in 4 innings in the first game and 24-3 in 5 innings in the second.
In game one the Troy girls jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning after holding Wellsboro scoreless in the top half. Troy scored one run in both the 2nd and 3rd innings, then added 6 runs in the 4th.
Wellsboro's lone run of the game came on a solo home run sophomore Tegan Del Rio. Junior Arianah Lawton added the 2nd hit for the Lady Hornets.
In game two, Troy scored 6 runs in the 1st, 8 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd, and 8 in the 5th.
Junior Madelynn Losinger scored for Wellsboro in the 2nd, junior Paige Logsdon crossed home plate in the 3rd, and senior Abby Owlett tripled and was driven home by Logsdon in the 5th.
Sophomore LeAnna Fuentes, Owlett, freshman Mazie Johnson and Del Rio had 4 of Wellsboro's 7 hits. Logsdon went 3-for-3 at the plate.
The losses drops the Lady Hornets to 2-5 (1-5 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action Tuesday against North Penn-Liberty.
