Sophomore Lauren Kosek recorded her 8th first place finish of the season by winning Saturday's NTL Coaches Invite hosted by Northeast Bradford.
Kosek ran a time of 18:36, finishing nearly a full minute ahead of Athens' Sara Bronson (19:45).
The Lady Hornets finished 7th as a team with 141 places. Towanda (52) finished 1st followed by Northeast Bradford (63), Wyalusing (79), Athens (93), Sullivan County (116), and North Penn-Mansfield (131).
Freshman Molly Tice (25:31) was 35th, freshman Anja Przybycien (25:35) was 36th, senior Karah Blackwell (26:15) crossed the finish line in 39th, and freshman Luisa Crocco (30:06) was 49th.
In the boys race NEB won with 49 places, followed by Towanda (68), Troy (86), Athens (104), Canton (144), Wellsboro (162), North Penn-Mansfield (172), Cowanesque Valley (175), and Sullivan County (218).
Junior Max Macias (17:04) finished 3rd overall to lead the Hornets while junior Henry Whitney (18:23) was 18th, junior Ethan Geneski (20:32) was 50th, freshman Lane Cozby (21:03) was 57th, freshman Jack Hammerton (22:51) was 75th, and junior Henry Nowak (24:04) was 81st.
In the Junior High girls race Kaci Kosek finished 2nd overall in 11:23. In the boys race Taitt Webster (11:32) crossed the finish line in 21st place, Austin DeShazo (12:56) was 30th, and Jacob Patterson (13:01) was 32nd.
The Varsity teams will be back in action at the District IV championships next Thursday at Bloomsburg University.
