Lady Hornet XC Teams Claim Pair Of Wins Over Canton, Sayre

The Wellsboro Girls XC team swept Canton and Sayre to earn a pair of wins on Tuesday, September 26.

The Lady Hornets defeated both teams 15-50.

Freshman Lauren Kosek won the race in 20:22 while junior Karah Blackwell and Sophia Yoder both crossed the finish line in 27:22.

In the boys Varsity race, the Hornets fell 37-22 to Canton and 28-27 to Sayre.

Sophomore Max Macias finished 2nd overall in 18:40 to lead the Hornets, followed by sophomore Ethan Geneski (21:30), sophomore Robbie Bowers (23:17), sophomore Henry Whitney (23:17), freshman Ethan Pollaro (34:52), and senior Tristan Lane (38:54).

Wellsboro also swept both junior high races as Kaci Kosek (9:45), Bella Hawn (9:57) and Tait Webster (9:59) took home the top three spots overall. Jacob Patterson (10:46) was 6th followed by Addie Chaborek (11:09), Molly Tice (11:15), Anja Przybycien (12:24), and Sylvia Lane (21:24).

The team is back in action on Tuesday, October 3 for a tri-meet with Athens at Sullivan County.
