The Wellsboro Junior High Football team scored their second win of the season after a 28-14 victory over Athens on Wednesday, September 6.
"It was a successful game today, we were able to mix a lot of guys in to help with depth in the future," said head coach Shane Mascho.
The Hornets took the lead right from the word go as Griffin Morral returned opening kickoff for a touchdown and Reed Richardson rushed for a successful conversion attempt. Wellsboro increased the lead on a Kody Enck TD later in the first quarter, then Morral found Ransom Schultz for another successful two-point conversion.
Morral would throw two more touchdowns on the day, one going to Schultz and the final one going Enck.
Wellsboro (2-0) hosts Towanda on Thursday, September 14.
