Hornets Drop Non-League Match To Elmira

The Wellsboro Varsity Wrestling team dropped a 42-19 non-league match to Elmira on Wednesday, February 1.

The Hornets won 4 matches on the evening, starting with sophomore Alec Magli at 118 lbs. with a 2:55 pin fall over Liam Ogden. Sophomore Will Gastrock won a 7-5 decision at 138 lbs. against Max Collins, sophomore Silas Mickey scored a 1:02 pin fall over Hunter Cleary at 145 lbs., and sophomore Ryder Bowen won a 16-5 major decision against Sam Brenen-Buseck at 172 lbs.

The loss drops the Hornets to 4-10 (2-6 NTL) on the season. They'll be back in action Friday for a tri-match with Port Allegany and Oswayo Valley.
