The Wellsboro Cross Country teams started their season in Wyalusing at the Lasagna Invite on Friday, September 8.
Wellsboro finished 6th in the Varsity boys race with 133 places. The Lady Hornets did not have enough runners to qualify for a team score.
Sophomore Ethan Geneski finished 19th overall in 22:08, followed by sophomore Henry Whitney in 20th (22:14), sophomore Robbie Bowers (24:21) in 34th, freshman Ethan Pollaro (41:50) was 43rd, and senior Tristan Lane (43:43) in 44th.
Freshman Lauren Kosek finished 1st overall in 21:07, sophomore Sophia Yoder (26:19) was 14th, and junior Karah Blackwell (30:57) was 32nd.
In the Junior High race Wellsboro finished 3rd with 60 places in the girls race. The boys team did not have enough runners to record a team finish.
Lane Cozby (12:53) was 18th, Tate Webster (13:13) was 19th, Jacob Patterson (14:13) finished 25th, and Owen Stumbo (14:37), was 29th.
Kaci Kosek (12:58) was 5th, Addie Chaborek (14:03) was 11th, Molly Tice (14:29) was 17th, Anja Przybycien (17:50) was 26th, and Sylvia Lane (28:32) was 30th.
Wellsboro kicks off their regular season schedule Tuesday at Troy.
