Members of the Wellsboro Swim team brought home three medals at last week's District IV Swimming Championships at Williamsport High School.
As a team, the Lady Hornets placed 9th out of 12 teams overall with 99 points while the boys were 12th out of 16 teams with 32 points. Over the 12 event meet, Wellsboro's swimmers set 10 new personal records and five Hornets made the podium.
Senior Hayne Webster brought home two 3rd place medals during the event, one in the 100 Fly (57.37) and one in the 100 Breast (1:06.90). Joining Webster with a medal was junior Caralyn Warner. Warner swam a 1:05.68 in the 100 Back to finish 4th overall. She also finished 9th in the 100 Fly (1:10.41).
Junior Isobel Anderegg made a podium appearance with a 5th place finish in the 100 Fly (1:06.65) while also swimming a 1:17.71 in the 100 Breast.
Freshman Kristina Belz swam 3:00.45 in the 200 IM and 1:24.81 in the 100 Breast.
Junior Madison Robbins finished 5th in the 50 Free (27.40) and 11th in the 100 Breast (1:17.82).
Freshman Makenna Robbins also got on the podium with a 5th place finish in the 200 IM (2:31.84) and also finished 8th in the 100 Breast (1:16.93).
"It's a long season, and these swimmers put in the work and were ready for the district meet," coach Rebecca Dodson-Webster said. "The entire team competed, and with only one senior graduating, the future is bright for Wellsboro swimming."
