The Wellsboro Junior High Girls Cross Country team beat Towanda 24-31 to claim the NTL Coaches Invite Cross Country title at Northeast Bradford on Saturday, October 15.
Wellsboro had two top three finishers and 3 in the top 12. Lauren Kosek (11:20) placed 1st followed by Isla Twoey (11:52) in 3rd. Piper Hoprich (13:12) was 12th, Molly Tice (14:27) was 18th, and Silvia Lane (20:12) was 30th.
In the boys race Michael Knefly (10:36) finished 3rd overall to lead the Hornets. Charles Cozby (13:30) was 34th, Connor Hartman (13:38) was 37th, and Jack Hammerton (15:41) was 45th.
Athens won the boys meet with 33 places followed by Wyalusing (52) in 2nd.
