The North Penn-Mansfield Tigers each scored a pair of NTL Cross Country wins at Cowanesque Valley on Tuesday, October 9.
In the girls race Mansfield beat CV 15-50 and topped Wellsboro 19-41. Wellsboro also beat CV 15-50. In the boys race, North Penn-Mansfield beat CV 22-34 and beat Wellsboro 23-34. CV also beat Wellsboro, 25-32.
CV's Jules Jones won in 21:03. Mansfield's Emma Harris (23:01), Grace Farrer (23:33), and Shelby Alexander (23:40) were 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, and seniors Kylie Butler (23:43) and Elizabeth Macias (24:16) rounded out the top 6.
Mansfield's Sam Shedden took home the top spot in 18:36, followed by senior Bergen Weiner (19:03) in 2nd, Mansfield's Noah Shedden (19:13) in 3rd, and CV's Seth Neal (19:19) and Chris Harris (19:37) rounded out the top 5. Senior Zack Busch (19:39) was 6th.
Rounding out the rest of Wellsboro's finishers were freshman Madeline Bryant (25:35) in 10th, sophomore Aislinn Hoose (26:32) in 13th, senior Kara Doane (26:50) in 14th, junior Alex Chilson (27:22) in 15th, sophomore Alexis Banik (30:10) in 19th, and freshman Regan Regina (30:10) in 20th.
For the boys senior Aidan Perry (20:51) was 10th, sophomore Tylar Wright (22:15) was 16th, sophomore Aidan Fletcher (22:23) was 17th, junior Brennan Warner (23:44) was 20th, senior Taylor Wheeler (25:53) was 25th, and freshman Gabe Guignard (25:53) was 26th.
In the Middle School race, CV swept the meet. The CV girls edged both Wellsboro and Mansfield 27-28 and Mansfield edged Wellsboro 27-29. In the boys race CV beat both Mansfield and Wellsboro 15-50.
The Hornets are back in action this Saturday, October 13 at the NTL Coaches Invite at Northeast Bradford.
