The Wellsboro Varsity Softball team dropped their third straight game in an 18-0 loss to Wyalusing on Wednesday, April 18.
The Lady Hornets struggled at the plate as they were limited to just two hits, one by freshman Jena Boyce and the other by senior Kailee Clymer.
"Tonight's game was a tough one," said head coach Ron Brought. "Losing your starting pitcher is a big blow to any team, but injuries are part of the game. We need to get back to working hard every at bat and showing that we're still capable of playing competitive softball."
Sophomore Cathryn Brought left after pitching the first inning with 2 hits and 2 strikeouts. That's when Wyalusing pounced. The Lady Rams pounded out 9 runs in the second inning, one in the third, and then 8 in the fourth to end the game early.
Freshman Kerrah Clymer pitched in final three innings in relief.
Wellsboro (3-4, 3-3 NTL Large School Division) is back in action on Friday, April 20 against Hughesville in a non-league game.
