Hornets drop matches to Wyalusing, Williamson

The Wellsboro Varsity Wrestling team dropped a pair of NTL matches to Wyalusing and Williamson on Tuesday, January 23.

Against Wyalusing the Hornets lost 82-0. The Rams scored forfeits at 106, 113, 120, 126, 145, 152, 170, 182, and 195.

At 132 lbs. sophomore Connor Ramsey was pinned by Zachary Shaffer in 4:41, Luke Yonkin pinned junior Michael McNair in 1:28 at 138 lbs., Creighton Edsell pinned freshman Landon Goetsch in 43 seconds at 160 lbs., Mike Wilcox pinned freshman Kyle Manogue in 58 seconds at 220 lbs., and Randy Wildrick scored a 9-1 major decision over junior Robert Brown at 285 lbs.

Williamson also beat Wellsboro on the night.

The losses drop the Hornets to 1-12 (1-6 NTL). The team hosts Canton on Thursday, January 25 for Senior Night.
