The Wellsboro Boys and Girls Cross Country teams each scored 3 wins in their final regular season meet with Sayre, Sullivan County and Towanda on Tuesday, October 16.
The Hornets beat Sayre 15-50, Sullivan County 23-33, and edged Towanda 25-30. The Lady Hornets beat Sullivan County 15-50, Towanda 23-37, and edged Sayre 28-31.
Senior Bergen Weiner took home 1st in the boys race in 19:49 followed by senior Zack Busch in 20:12. Senior Aidan Perry (21:46) was 8th, sophomore Aidan Fletcher (21:51) was 9th, junior Brennan Warner (23:12) was 15th, sophomore Tylar Wright (23:44) was 17th, freshman Gabe Guignard (26:03) was 20th, and senior Taylor Wheeler (26:07) was 21st.
Junior Kylie Butler was 2nd overall in 25:03, freshman Madeline Bryant (26:57) was 7th, senior Kara Doane (27:10) was 8th, junior Alex Chilson (29:20) was 9th, sophomore Alexis Banik (30:38) was 11th, freshman Regan Regina (30:38) was 12th, and senior Rachel Chamberlain (31:18) was 14th.
In the Middle School races the Hornets fell to Sullivan County 15-50 in the boys race. Wellsboro beat Sayre 15-50 in the girls race, Sullivan County 26-29, and Towanda 15-50.
Ezra Lawton (15:18) finished 13th overall for the boys. Madeline Gage (12:34) was 3rd overall and Julia DeCamp (13:17) was 4th.
The Varsity Hornets will be back in action for the District IV Championships on Thursday, October 25 at Bloomsburg University.
