The Wellsboro Varsity Wrestling team competed at the St. Mary's Kickoff Classic on Saturday, December 10.
Sophomore Hunter Brown dropped two matches at 195, losing a 4-1 decision to Southern Huntingdon Co's Levi Neil and then a 11-9 decision to Chartiers Valley's Colton Bateman. Sophomore Robert Brown went 1-2 on the day winning his first match by fall against Southern Huntingdon Co's Casey Willis, then suffered falls to Chartiers Valley's Shamil Zaynullaev and Claysburg Kimmel's Dalton Corle.
Freshman Aidan Hauser suffered a 10-3 decision to Southern Huntingdon Co's Vicent Negal and was pinned by Cameron County's Ethan Vislay at 145, and senior Caleb Sinkler scored a fall over Chartiers Valley's Ty Thomas and was pinned by Saint Marys' Garret Cook for a second place finish at 152.
The Hornets begin the NTL regular season on Tuesday, December 13 against Towanda.
