XC teams sweep Mansfield, Wyalusing

The Wellsboro Varsity Cross Country teams both swept Mansfield and Wyalusing on Tuesday, September 29.

The boys team edged Wyalusing 26-29 and beat Mansfield 15-44. Freshman Aidan Perry won the meet with a time of 18:04. Junior Alden Weiner was 3rd (19:02), sophomore Connor Brought (19:04) was 4th, junior Bryon Callahan (19:30) was 8th, freshman Bergen Weiner (20:14) was 10th, freshman Zach Busch (20:27) was 11th, sophomore Kyle Wilson (21:16) was 15th, sophomore Logan Morral (22:49) was 21st, freshman Taylor Wheeler (23:13) was 25th, and sophomore Noah Smith (33:37) was 28th.

The girls beat Wyalusing 17-46 and Mansfield 23-37. Sophomore Anna Bleggi won the meet with a time of 20:57. Senior Camryn Keane (23:02) was 4th, freshman Zoe Iseri (23:15) was 5th, senior Samantha Bailey (23:17) was 6th, freshman Taylor Romania (23:58) was 8th, senior Jordyn Coffee (24:14) was 9th, freshman Kara Doane (24:29) was 10th, freshman Rachel Chamberlain (25:51) was 14th, freshman Dani Hunt (26:29) was 15th, and freshman Brooke Unangst (27:14) was 17th.

The wins improve the boys team to 3-1 and the girls to 4-0. Both teams will be back in action on Saturday, October 3rd at the NEPA Invite.
