The Wellsboro Cross Country teams hosted Northeast Bradford and Towanda in their first home meet on Tuesday, October 6.
On the boys side, Northeast Bradford beat Wellsboro 17-38 and Towanda 15-40, while Wellsboro beat Towanda 21-34. Freshman Aidan Perry came home fourth in 18:34 to lead the Hornets, junior Alden Weiner (19:42) was 10th, sophomore Connor Brought (19:46) was 11th, freshman Bergen Weiner (20:20) in 15th, junior Bryon Callahan (20:30) in 16th, freshman Zach Busch (20:56) was 18th, sophomore Kyle Wilson (22:15) was 20th, sophomore Logan Morral (23:16) was 26th, freshman Taylor Wheeler (24:53) was 28th, and sophomore Noah Smith (37:08) was 31st.
In the girls race, Northeast Bradford beat Wellsboro 19-36 and Towanda 17-38, while Wellsboro edged Towanda 25-30. Sophomore Anna Bleggi finished 2nd overall in 21:43 to lead the team. Freshman Taylor Romania (25:13) finished 9th, senior Samantha Bailey (25:38) was 11th, senior Jordyn Coffee (25:54) was 13th, senior Camryn Keane (26:32) was 16th, freshman Kara Doane (26:50) was 17th, freshman Zoe Iseri (28:14) was 21st, and freshman Rachel Chamberlain (28:55) was 24th.
In the Middle School races, the Wellsboro boys beat Towanda 25-30 and lost to Northeast 20-43, while the girls beat both teams 15-50. Austin Richards (10:19) finished first for the boys and Jaime Palmer (12:12) was first for the girls.
The boys improve to 4-2 and the girls are now 5-1. The teams will be back in action next Tuesday, October 13 as they travel to Canton for a meet with Canton, Troy, and Cowanesque Valley.
