Junior Brooke Kohler went 2-3, scored a run, and threw a complete game as the Wellsboro softball team beat Canton 1-0 Wednesday night in Wellsboro.
Kohler singled in the bottom of the 1st inning then reached second on an error to move into scoring position. Freshman Sarah Ingerick sacrificed her over to third, where Kohler eventually scored the only run of the game off the bat of Junior Maggie Smith.
Freshmen Jenny Young and Darci Warriner had the other two hits on the night for the Lady Hornets.
Kohler pitched all 7 innings on the mound to earn her first win of the season. Kohler struck out 10 batters, allowed 3 hits, and walked two on 96 pitches.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improve their 2013 season record to 4-1 (3-0 NTL West). The team will be back in action on Friday, April 19 as they travel to Troy.
