The Wellsboro cross crountry teams hosted Athens and Sayre in and NTL meet on Tuesday afternoon.
The girls team came home with a pair of wins, beating Athens 21-38 and Sayre 15-50. Sophomore Jada Jackson won the meet with a time of 22:18, with Sophomore Jordyn Coffee in 3rd place (22:56).
Rounding out the rest of the finishers was Sophomore Camryn Keane in 8th (24:03), Sophomore Samantha Bailey in 9th (24:21), Senior Charlotte Worthington in 10th (24:42), Freshman Janessa Davis in 12th (25:03), Junior Caitlynn Butler in 13th (25:49), Junior Annie Sweeney in 14th (25:56), and Senior Baylee Mann in 15th (25:57).
With the wins, the girls improve to 5-2 (5-1 NTL) on the year.
In the boys race, Wellsboro fell to Athens 19-41 and Sayre 23-34 dropping them to 1-6 (1-5 NTL). Senior Joey Doganiero led the team with a 3rd place finish in 19:05, followed by Junior Dalton Messmer in 9th (21:21), Freshman Joey Messmer in 13th, Freshman Alden Weiner in 18th (23:07), and Sophomore David Zavetsky in 20th (23:33).
In the Middle School races, both Wellsboro teams swept Athens and Sayre 15-0.
The teams will be back in action on Tuesday, October 8 as they travel to Canton for their final league meet of the season.
