Senior Chad Daugherty won two matches at Saturday's North Sectional Tournament to become the 5th Hornet in school history to reach 100 career wins. The milestone came in an 11-1 major decision over Towanda's Logan Terry.
"I've been counting down all season long," Daugherty said. "I knew I had to get 26 wins this year and I've been counting it close on my matches. I knew I have to stay focus. Even though I wrestled all the kids all year long I knew I just had to stay focused and not take anyone for granted."
Daugherty, who advanced to Districts at 195 lbs., joins alumni Jake Clemens (115), Seth Yost (115), Zac Cerrone (109), and Josh Mihalik (103) as the only wrestlers to reach 100 career wins.
Junior Nate Ingerick fell to Towanda's Terrick Vargason by a 5-2 decision, Junior Brandon Owlett lost a 12-3 major decision to Williamson's Billy Barnes at 145 lbs., and Senior Eli Kennedy was pinned in 55 seconds by Wyalusing's Dylan Otis.
Owlett and Kennedy also qualified for next weekend's District match. Owlett finished in 2nd place in the 145 lb. weight class and Kennedy also finished 2nd at 220 lbs.
