Hornet wrestlers fall to Wyalusing

The Wellsboro Varsity wrestling team dropped the first league match of the season as they fell to Wyalusing, 54-17.

Senior Adam Cleveland picked up a win over Colton Gowin by a 16-1 technical fall in the 120 lb. weight class, Junior Brandon Owlett picked up an 8-7 decision over Tyler Fenton at 145 lbs., and Sophomore Jack Chambers won on a 9-4 decision over Jake Minturn.

Senior Chad Daugherty picked up the other win on the mat for the Hornets, as he pinned Zane Vaskas in 37 seconds at 195 lbs.

With the loss, the Hornets fall to 0-2 (0-0 Large School Division). The team will be back in action on Saturday, December 29 as they travel to Selinsgrove for their Holiday Tournament.
