The Wellsboro Varsity softball team had their 4-game winning streak snapped yesterday as they lost to South Williamsport, 7-2. The Hornets held their own up until the fourth inning when South scored 3 runs and later scored 4 runs in the seventh.
Sophomore Maggie Smith pitched the entire game for the Hornets and went 2-4 from the plate. Freshman Baylea Lehman also went 2-4 on the afternoon.
With the loss the Hornets fall to 5-2 (4-1 NTL West). The team will be back in action on Monday, April 23, as they travel to Athens.
