Last night, June 1, the Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club held their annual banquet celebrating the accomplishments of all Wellsboro athletic programs throughout the course of the 2008-2009 school year.
After a nice dinner by Custom Catering and the introduction of all teams by Athletic Director Sherri Prough, the Memorial Awards were presented. Senior Fullback Pat Driebelbies received the John Wilcox Memorial Award and Cameron Jones received the Rev. Wade Stewart Memorial Award for their contributions to the football program over the past four years.
Other award winners included Senior Tight End Mitch Christman (PIAA District 4 Sportsmanship Award), Senior Manager Caleb Krick (School Spirit Award), Sophomore Running Back Jake Clemens (Roger Dibble Memorial Award), and Senior Running Back Jake Coolidge (John Prevost Male Athlete of the Senior Class).
