After week 5 of the 2008 regular season, Wellsboro, Athens, and Towanda sit atop the NTL Large School Division with 4-1 records. The Wildcats faced off against North Penn for the first league win by defeating the Panthers, 27-6.
Towanda remains undefeated in the league as they defeated Cowanesque Valley 34-14, and Troy improved to 3-2 on the season by defeating South Williamsport 27-17. However, the most suprising outcome of week 5 was Montgomery's 20-0 win over Wyalusing. Montgomery ends a 26 game losing streak with the win.
