The Wellsboro Hornets improved their 2008 season record to 4-1 after defeating the Sayre Redskins 54-6 Friday night, September 26. Wellsboro was led on the ground by Senior Fullback Pat Driebelbies, who rushed for over 150 yards. Senior Quarterback Cameron Jones and Senior Receiver Garrett Stager were also stellar on the night. Jones and Stager connected twice in the first half for two touchdowns.
At the half, the Hornets were on top of the Redskins 41-0. Wellsboro would score twice more in the second half, as Sophomore Running Backs Ryan Moss and Jake Clemens punched the ball in for the Hornets. Wellsboro resumes league play next week as they travel to Towanda to take on the Black Knights.
