From the opening kickoff, the Wellsboro Green Hornets dominated the East Juniata Tigers, beating the non-league opponent 55-17. The Hornets scored on their first offensive play and never looked back, as Cameron Jones found a wide open Garrett Stager for a 51 yard touchdown pass.
The Wellsboro defense also played exceptionally well for the second week in a row. The Green Hornet defense forced three interceptions, two by Senior Jake Coolidge and one by Sophomore Ryan Moss. Coolidge and Moss both returned one for a touchdown.
With the win, the Hornets improve to 6-3 on the year, their first outright winning season since 1996. Wellsboro will face rival North Penn for the Morton Jones Trophy next Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
