Last night's school board meeting attracted one of the biggest community turnouts in recent memory. Of the many issues on the table, perhaps the biggest issue on debate was wether to eliminate or keep Middle School sports and other after school activities. The School Board opened the floor for discussion for over an hour, where numerous people voiced their opinions about keeping school sports.
A large student body was present at the meeting as well. Many of the students, including Zack Luczak and Nate Luczak, spoke in favor of Strength and Conditioning coach John DeLeonardis, as well as what the effects could be if school sports were cut at the Middle School level.
Also on the table last night was the issue about the Men's and Women's basketball coaches. At the end of the meeting, an 8-1 vote was passed re-instating the coaches. Also, a new preliminary school budget was passed, in favor of keeping school sports.
