After a day filled with team adversity, the Wellsboro Hornets traveled to Westfield to take on the Cowanesque Valley Indians. Wellsboro, coming off a big Homecoming win last week against Montgomery, looked to do much of the same against the Indians.
The Hornets had two holes to fill, as both Nate Luczak and Pat Driebelbies were inactive for the game, but Sophomore Aaron Moss stepped up on offense and Junior Ronny Camacho stepped up on defense. Moss was very productive in his first offensive start of the season, rushing for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Mitch Christman, Colton Acorn, and Steve Mengee also added touchdowns.
With the win, the Hornets improve their season record to 5-3 and have high hopes of making district playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade. Next up for the Hornets is Wyalusing next Friday night.
