The Wellsboro Hornets hosted the Sayre Redskins in a week 4 NTL matchup. From the opening kickoff, the Hornets took it to the Redskins both offensively and defensively. Offensively, Wellsboro's junior backfield of Pat Driebelbies, Steve Mengee, and Jake Coolidge put up more than 300 yards rushing on the evening. The Wellsboro defense also played outstanding, as Colton Acorn returned a Chris Copp forced fumble for a touchdown.
The Hornets were in complete control during the first half, scoring 46 points, while keeping Sayre scoreless. Sayre was able to score twice in the second half, and brought the final score to 46-12. With the win, Wellsboro evens it record to 2-2, and will face a tough Towanda team next Friday night.
