By: Ed Weaver  /  October 8, 2006

The Wellsboro Hornets headed into Friday's game against Troy looking to turn their season around. Wellsboro dominated Troy in the first half, holding them scoreless. Wellsboro scored their only touchdown of the night on a four yard Jesse Tom run. On the following kickoff, Sophomore Pat Driebelbies squibbed a short kickoff over Troy's head, allowing Sophomore Matt Weaver to recover the ball, giving the Hornets decent field position. Wellsboro was unable to capitalize, and went into the half with a 6-0 lead.

During the second half, the Hornet offense faltered, while Troy got their's started. The Trojans took advantage of Wellsboro turnovers and sacks, and were able to produce 19 points in the second half. When the final bell sounded, Troy held the Hornets at bay, winning the contest, 19-6. Wellsboro will be on the road for the final time this season when they travel to Montgomery on Friday.
