The Wellsboro JV Team finished their season last night in Wyalusing, tying the Rams 12-12. Wyalusing controlled much of the first half, as they were able to run the ball and control Wellsboro's offense. At the half, Wyalusing was on top by a score of 6-0.
The Hornets started to come around in the second half, as the defense cracked down and started producing turnovers. Wellsboro's first touchdown came on a run by Freshman Fullback Aaron Moss. The following extra point was no good, bringing the score to 6-6. Wyalusing immediately put together a scoring drive, taking the lead 12-6. The Hornets held tough though, and did not give up. Late in the fourth quarter, the Hornet offense put together a scoring drive with some key runs from Sophomore Fullback Pat Driebelbies and two key catches from Junior Tight End Chad Shultz. Sophomore Quarterback Cameron Jones was then able to finish the drive with a four yard run to knot the score at 12-12. The missed two-point conversion kept the score even.
Wyalusing then got the ball back for one last time. The Hornet defense shut down the Rams offense as time ran out on the last JV game of the year. With the tie, the Hornets finished their season at 6-2-1.
