The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team dropped a non-league match to Coudersport on Monday, September 12.
The Lady Hornets lost the first set 25-13, but won the second 25-21. Coudersport then topped Wellsboro 25-16 and 25-13 in the third and fourth sets hand the team their first loss of the year.
Junior Cheyenne Sherman scored 11 points with an ace, senior Olivia Kurtz had 7 points, and senior Kirsten Florio had 6 points, 4 aces, and 8 kills. Senior Morgan Florio added 7 kills, 10 digs, and 9 assists, and junior Brianne Keane had 13 assists, 4 kills, and 10 digs. Junior Sydney Tremper made 20 digs on the night, and Keane, Kirsten Florio, and junior Jillian Graver all recorded 2 blocks.
Wellsboro won the JV game 2-1 (25-8, 22-25, 15-12) to improve to 3-0 on the year.
The Lady Hornets are now 2-1 and will be back in action tonight as they host Northeast Bradford.
