The Wellsboro Middle School Volleyball team won their fourth straight game as they beat Williamson 2-0 on Wednesday, October 7.
"It was not our best night of volleyball. The team really struggled finding their rhythm and not playing to the level of competition," said head coach Jen Outman. "It was hard for them to adjust to only getting one hit over the net from the other team. They never had time to get back into position before the ball came over the net again."
The won the first set 25-17 and won the second 25-12. Caitlyn Callahan (10 serves, 6 points, and one ace) and Megan Starkweather (13 serves, 10 points, and 4 aces) led the team in serving, Ryann Adams (4), Liza Manning (1), Caitlyn Callahan (1), and Megan Starkweather (1) led the team in spikes, and Cathryn Brought (4) and Megan Starweather (3) led the team in assists.
In the B-team game, the Lady Hornets lost 2-1 (25-17, 20-25, 10-15). Olivia Crocco (13) and Alina Pretrzyk (9) lead the team in serving. Nina Coolidge had 1 kill, Ashayla Faulkner and Kiyah Boyce each had one spike.
"Even though the team lost, I am very y pleased with their improvement, implementation of 3 hits, and their hard work," concluded Outman.
The Lady Hornets are now 7-1 on the year and will travel to Liberty on Saturday, October 10.
