The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team suffered a lopsided 73-38 defeat at Wyalusing on Monday, January 19.
Wellsboro led 14-12 after the first quarter, but a 26 point second quarter burst broke the game open for the Lady Rams as they outscored Wellsboro 61-24 the rest of the way for the victory.
Junior Sarah Ingerick led the Lady Hornets with 12 points and six rebounds. Senior Jordan Butters had nine points and five rebounds, Junior Alexa Singer had six points and three assists, Freshman Rachael Tuttle had five points and 16 rebounds, Freshman Lizzie Poirier had four points, and Senior Peyton Wilson rounded out the scoring two points.
In the JV game, Wellsboro won 37-16 to improve to 9-2 behind 11 points from Sophomore Jessica Grab.
With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 7-7 (2-3 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action tonight as they host Liberty.
