The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team allowed two goals and lost to Athens on Thursday, September 4 in Athens.
Athens' Hannah Reid started the scoring at 25:32 of the first half off a Taylor Reynard assist and Taylor Conrad scored with 4:18 left in the half off a Breanna Gambrell free kick.
The Lady Hornets were only able to get four shots on goal on the night compared to Athens' 10. Freshman Kailee Clymer made 8 saves in goal for Wellsboro.
Athens won the JV game 4-0 as Alectra Cannavino scored twice and Reynard and Morgan Ferguson added goals.
With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 1-2 (1-1 NTL). The team will be back in action on Saturday, September 6 as they host Troy.
