The Wellsboro Varsity boys cross country team picked up two wins in their first league meet of the season.
The Hornets fell to Canton 29-26, but picked up wins over Mansfield (15-50) and Cowanesque Valley (17-40). Senior Jordan Jackson won the meet with a time of 16:30 and Senior Bobby Hill was the second Hornet overall as he finished fourth in 17:02.
Rounding out the finishers for Wellsboro were Junior Joey Doganiero in 6th (17:51), Senior Derek Morgan in 8th (18:59), Freshman Dakota Cleveland in 12th (19:22), Senior Drew Patrick in 21st (21:30), Sophomore Dalton Messmer in 23rd (22:18), and Freshman Alex Granger in 30th (30:37).
The team will be back in action on Saturday, September 15, as they compete in the Altoona Invite.
