Young Lady Hornet Volleyball Team Wins Fourth Straight

Wellsboro's Junior High Volleyball team made the long trek across Route 6 yesterday to take on Wyalusing and came home with a 2-1 win.

The young Lady Hornets won the first set 25-16, then dropped a 27-25 thrilling second set. They then rallied to win 15-4.

Wellsboro's B team fell in three sets. They won the first 25-18, then fell 25-20 and 15-12.

Leah Szentesy scored 11 points on 4 aces while Natalie Weaver and Taryn Sweet both scored 8 points apiece. Weaver had 5 aces and Sweet recorded 3. Brynn Bourret added 5 points and 4 digs and Kyerra Heck and Naleyah Greenfield chipped in three points each.

Weaver added 2 kills in addition to her point total and Lylah Dillon and Maci Perry made 3 and 2 digs, respectively.

The win improves the team to 6-2 on the season. They are back in action Monday at home against Canton.
