The Towanda Lady Knights jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the 1st quarter en route to a 49-12 win over the Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team on Friday.
Towanda went on a 19-4 run in the 2nd to increase their lead to 26-4 at the half, then outscored the Lady Hornets 23-8 in the second half.
Payton Perry led all scorers on the night with 13 points.
Sophomore Kate Bryant had 7 points to lead the Lady Hornets and sophomore Adelyn Frantz scored the other 5 points.
Freshman Kya Lawton added 14 rebounds and senior Lily Wagner made 3 steals.
In the JV game the Lady Hornets fell 34-6 to Towanda. Junior Bri Stocum led the way with 4 points and sophomore Madison Nagy added two points, both shots coming from the foul line.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 3-7 (1-5 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action at Port Allegany on Monday.
