Lady Hornets Sweep Sayre

The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team swept Sayre in an NTL crossover match Thursday evening on the road.

The Lady Hornets won 25-15, 25-21 and 25-16.

Wellsboro's JV team also swept the Lady Redskins, winning 25-13 and 25-8.

Junior Kendall Sweet led the Lady Hornets with 16 points on 3 aces to go along with 9 kills. Junior Peyton Keane recorded 9 kills and had 11 digs, senior Ellie Largey made 19 assists, junior Jillian Mickey made 11 assists, scored 8 points (1 ace) and made 7 digs, and senior Madison Cruttenden recorded 17 digs.

Keane also scored six points on two aces and junior Lacie Brutsman added a block.

The win improves Wellsboro to 7-2 overall and 6-1 in the NTL Large School Division. The Lady Hornets are back in action for a non-league game at Coudersport on Monday.
